I had my first taste of entrepreneurship at the early age of 12 when my father took me to my first business conference. My dad recognized that I had an itch for entrepreneurship.
I was hooked right then and there and I knew that being a business owner was exactly what I wanted to do… I had NO desire to work for somebody else.
When I was growing up my parents weren’t rich and I was never given any allowance or money so I had to go create it myself. I fell in love with being able to buy whatever I wanted... whenever I wanted.
In high school, I managed a bakery where I learned how to develop recipes and how to build a bakery/product type of business. Right after high school, I started my first business, a luxury rum cake business. I’ve owned this business for 5 years and my revenue has doubled every year since we opened with no signs of stopping.
Even though I was creating a lot of success in my business for being so young, I struggled with my mental health… It was definitely one of my biggest obstacles. It took a lot of work to get out of my own way… to stop hiding and start believing in myself and owning all my success and how badass I truly am!
Today’s the day is a phrase that is extremely important to me because those words have stood out to me and spoke to me on so many occasions… they have pulled me through some of my darkest moments.
I was at a conference in Colorado when I heard the speaker say those words once again, but this time it REALLY hit me hard. The speaker was talking about how today’s the day to get working on your mission and your vision.
I was so inspired and I felt my soul speak pretty loud and clear to me; I had been playing small and I’ve always known that I am here to liberate greatness… but I was scared to say yes to it… terrified to death to actually go for it.
I’m so grateful that I said YES to my vision and my mission because I report to no one, I am able to say yes to what I want and I say no to what I don’t want. I travel the world, own 3 businesses and most importantly I get to wake-up every day and fill in the blank!
Today’s The Day…..
And I want that for you too!
